Well, it turns out we are not terribly reliable at keeping out word. Although, the Pillow Musical was supposed to be our final indoor concert for the season, we are having an extra one on 11th May due to the exceptional interest and attendance rate. So, get ready for our truly final (or who knows!) concert before we move outdoor. We have invited the Windy ensemble – a group of five woodwind players who will present a programme consisting mainly of various classical dances. Among with the ever popular Strauss’s polkas, we will hear a march by Schubert, a mazurka, two Hungarian dances, some Beethoven and the greatly virtuosic Flight of the Bumblebee.
The Windy quintet is comprised of Nikoleta Petrova (flute), Asen Tzvetanov (oboe), Yavor Dobrev (clarinet), Mihail Mihailov (French horn), and Sabina Jordanova (bassoon). The five musicians are prominent members of the top symphonic orchestras in Sofia but also supreme soloists and chamber musicians. We are proud to announce that this newly-formed ensemble will have its debut at the Pillow Concerts. Both concerts will be preceded with an organic breakfast for every child from the audience, kindly provided by Harmonica.
