Six magical concerts with varied musical programmes and participation of some exceptional Bulgarian musicians are to happen during the 2016/2017 season of the Pillow Concerts. There will be plenty of international guests, too, among which the renowned British chamber group, the 12 Ensemble. The upcoming season’s musical journeys will take place at the cozy and comfortable setting of the Helikon bookstore on 4, Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. in Sofia.

Important changes were made at the start of the Pillow Concerts’ seventh season in Sofia. From October, 2016 tickets will no longer be available for separate concerts and all events will be part of our Membership Program.
The Membership Programme becomes the only option to attend the Pillow Concerts with your family. As before, it comes with a number of intriguing gifts and advantages such as additional concerts outside of the regular programme and special surprises by our partners and friends.

The Pillow Concerts are travelling to Gabrovo for the first time. We are extremely excited to visit one of the most inspiring cities in Bulgaria. The event is organised after the kind invitation of Thun and Gabrovo Municipalities on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the two cities’ fraternization. The Pillow Concert will be part of the prestigious festival Days of the Chamber Music – Gabrovo introducing the classical music’s youngest admirers into its audience. As in every debut of the Pillow Concerts outside of Sofia until now, this time the musicians will again be the famous brass quintet, adored by our audience in every part of the country.

The programme will include popular opera excerpts, fiery Spanish rhythms and inspiring jazz compositions. All of our guests are invited to join us with maracas, castanets, small drums, tambourines and other percussion instruments available at home. If you can’t find any, do come along early to make one yourself during the Pillow Workshop one hour before the concert. The Brass Pillow Concert in Gabrovo is carried out with the generous support of Thun Minicipality, abrovo Municipality, Days of the Chamber Music – Gabrovo Festival and FunBook.
