Palm Sunday – the most colorful and aromatic spring holiday will be honored with a special visit by a brilliant trio of musicians from London, Paris and Sofia. In the Flowery Pillow Concert, expect the virtuoso violinist Emil Chakalov, who has been a soloist with the London Concertante Ensemble, as well as with the Sofia, Varna and Pleven Philharmonic Orchestras. From Paris comes the passionate cellist Stefan Hadjiev, one of the most famous chamber musicians in Europe, who often amazes the audience with his unusual interpretations in all styles from baroque to contemporary music creaters like Björk and even Radiohead. Behind the grand piano will sit the only lady on the stage – the Pillow Concerts’ Artistic Director, pianist Veneta Neynska. Also our favorite presenter, Veneta is a graduate of two of the most renowned conservatories in the world – the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, UK.
Everyone celebrating their flowery name is welcome to enjoy their special day with a magical colorful program including the most beloved tune-makers in classical music – the Austrian King of Song Franz Schubert and the Russian magician Sergei Rachmaninoff. Prepare your most beautiful outfits and charming smiles to create an exquisite, sparkling and unforgettable holiday together! The most well-behaved adult will receive the hugely contested Medal for the Most Obedient Parent, magically sweetened by a box full of Vanilla Kitchen’s famous brownies, and all young music fans are welcome one hour before each concert for the Music Play’s Music Atelier, where they can meet the Queen of musical instruments – the violin.
